Archerfield Airport was privatised in June 1998 as a part of the Federal Government's privatisation programme of Australia's major airports. Archerfield Airport Corporation (AAC) has operated and managed the airfield since this date. AAC is a family owned and operated business committed to the long-term success of the Airport as a significant aviation facility serving south-east Queensland. This commitment has been realised through the AAC's contribution to various developments on the Airport in the past 10 years.

Looking towards the future

A $3 Million hangar complex capable of accommodating corporate aircraft has been funded by AAC and enquiries are now welcome for leasing opportunities. This complex consists of four self-contained hangars varying in size from 336m2 to 720m2. In addition to this, each hangar has adjoining air-conditioned offices with remote-controlled vehicle garage and hangar doors. Click here for more information.

Various tenants have indicated the desire for purpose built student accommodation for flying training. AAC will continue to proactively discuss this matter with those concerned as the need arises.

Commercial developments will be encouraged in the Airport's new industrial estate

AAC has granted land to the Brisbane City Council for the Beatty to Balham Road link.  This link will ease congestion on Granard Road and the Brisbane Urban Corridor. Click here for further information.

Long-term vision for the AAC

The AAC's total business is now operating in the black. Moreover, in 2005 the aviation part of the business broke even for the first time ever. AAC has a long-term commitment to Archerfield Airport and will continue to develop a balance of commercial and aviation related businesses for the airfield's long-term financial sustainability.

It will continue to encourage Maintenance, Flight Training, Charter and Aircraft Retail businesses existing on the airfield and begin to attract and encourage corporate aircraft and small RPT operations into Archerfield.

Whilst doing this, the AAC will endeavour to remain conscientious to its community and environmental responsibilities.
