Archerfield Airport is one of 21 significant Australian Airports operated under the Australian Airports (1996) Act. Archerfield Airport Corporation (AAC) has operated and managed the airfield since June 1998. AAC is committed to the long-term success of the Airport as a significant aviation facility serving south-east Queensland. This commitment has been realised through AAC's contribution to various developments on the Airport in the past 10 years.

Looking towards the future

Various tenants have indicated the desire for purpose built student accommodation for flying training. AAC will continue to proactively discuss this matter with those concerned as the need arises.

Commercial developments will be encouraged in the Airport's new industrial estate.

AAC has granted land to the Brisbane City Council for the Beatty to Balham Road link.  This is the first initiative in co-operation with the Federal, State and Local Governments to renew and upgrade transport corridors in the Archerfield vicinity. This single initiative has resulted in savings of over $12 Million per year for the local community by easing congestion on Granard Road and the Brisbane Urban Corridor. Long-term vision for AAC

AAC's total business is now operating in the black. Moreover, in 2005 the aviation part of the business broke even for the first time ever. AAC has a long-term commitment to Archerfield Airport and will continue to develop a balance of commercial and aviation related businesses for the airfield's long-term financial sustainability.

It will continue to encourage Maintenance, Flight Training, Charter and Aircraft Retail businesses existing on the airfield and begin to attract and encourage corporate aircraft and small RPT operations into Archerfield.

Whilst doing this, AAC will remain conscious of its community and environmental responsibilities.
